AI Adoption
Board-level leadership for organisations putting AI to work: the policy, the governance, the rollout and the judgement to do it well.
Most organisations are adopting AI without anyone senior owning it. Tools arrive team by team, policy lags behind use, and the reputational risk sits with a leadership that has no clear read on what is actually happening. Faur is the board-level lead you bring in to fix that: to decide what to adopt, set the policy, run the rollout, and own the risk, so AI raises the quality and pace of the work instead of quietly creating exposure.
This is senior leadership, not implementation for hire. Where the work calls for ready-made AI tools and templates for a communications team specifically, that is the remit of our sister brand, Comms With AI, and we bring that system in behind the engagement where it fits.
The perspective is grounded and rare. Michael MacLennan reads reputational and stakeholder risk, which is exactly where organisational AI adoption goes wrong in public, holds Imperial College London's Machine Learning and AI certificate, and founded the award-winning Comms With AI. The person you brief is the person who leads the work.
What we lead
- AI-use policy and governance: clear rules for what is allowed, by whom, with what oversight
- Tool selection and honest evaluation: independent assessment of platforms against your real use cases
- Rollout and change: sequencing adoption across teams so it lands and sticks
- Training orchestration: getting people genuinely capable, not just licensed
- Adoption measurement: knowing whether it is working, and where value is real
- The reputational read: the risk lens most AI consultants do not bring
How we work together
Three ways in, matched to where you are.
- AI Adoption Assessment. A fixed-scope diagnostic: current-state audit, a first AI-use policy, tool and governance recommendations and a prioritised roadmap. From £2,500.
- Project work. Defined pieces of the above, from a policy build to a rollout design. £750 per day.
- Fractional AI Adoption Lead. Ongoing leadership and governance, roughly a day a week, for organisations that need the capability but cannot justify hiring a full-time Head of AI. Retainer from £2,500 a month.
Not sure which fits? Start with a Faur Bearings consultation: forty-five minutes and an advisory note that will tell you whether you need a policy, a project or a lead.
Questions, answered
Do you build the AI tools or write the code?
No. Faur is the senior leadership and governance layer: the person who decides what to adopt, sets the policy, runs the rollout and owns the risk. Where an engagement needs ready-made AI tools and templates for a communications team, our sister brand Comms With AI provides them, and we bring that system in behind the work.
How is this different from a large consultancy's AI programme?
You deal directly with Michael MacLennan, not a team you never met at the pitch. Faur is built for organisations too careful with their reputation to hand AI adoption to a body shop, and not large enough to justify a full transformation programme or a full-time Head of AI. Senior judgement, right-sized.
Why trust Faur to lead AI adoption?
Michael holds Imperial College London's Machine Learning and AI certificate, has led digital and communications work for twenty years at organisations including Red Bull, Brunswick and Barclaycard, and built Comms With AI, named the year's Gold winner for innovation in AI tools at the 2026 AI Comms Awards, where he was also named AI Communications Leader of the Year. The counsel comes from hands-on work, including honesty about where AI does not help.
