About The Founder

Faur was founded by Michael MacLennan, a strategic communications leader who combines two decades of senior comms/digital experience with practical AI and machine learning capability.

In October 2025, Michael completed Imperial College London’s Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence certificate, graduating with top-quartile performance. The focus is practical: designing, building and deploying AI systems for real communications needs – not just experimentation.

Michael’s leadership experience includes work with Red Bull, Brunswick, Barclaycard, BBC, ITN, STV and The Herald. He also founded the award-winning charity Covid Aid (supporting 385,000+ people and raising £250k+).

He is currently freelance Digital & Social Director at Grayling, leading digital and social strategy for major programmes and advising senior leaders in complex stakeholder environments. He also serves on the board of ScotlandIS and runs Applied Comms AI, a transparent learning lab for testing and implementing AI tools for communications professionals.
